Survival Skills Course
The survival skills course is designed to give your child a chance to learn, experience and overcome many obstacles and challenges in the outdoors in a friendly and safe environment. Children will build resilience, improve their communication skills, learn how to work as part of a team and ultimately grow in confidence and self-esteem.
This fun and informative 5 week programme runs from 10am – 12.30pm every Saturday.
Dates for Course from Saturday 25th April until 30th May (no session on Bank holiday weekend Saturday 02nd May)
Children will learn the following valuable survival skills:
- Foraging: they will learn the difference between edible and deadible foods of the forest
- Shelter Building
- Gathering Water
- Basic First Aid
- How to track & identify animals
- Bandaging & splint making
- Camouflage techniques
- Basic Navigation & Compass use
The highlight of the 5 weeks course is a team event combining all their newly acquired skills to beat The Wilderness Obstacle Challenge.
Each child who completes the course will be awarded a Basic Level Certificate in Survival Skills.
